Youth and young adults make up most of all new smokers throughout the U.S. Cigarette companies look to young people as replacement smokers. Smoking kills more people than alcohol, AIDS, car crashes, illegal drugs, murders and suicides combined and thousands more die from other tobacco related causes. Using a comprehensive multi-strategy approach incorporating prevention and education approaches, Tobacco Prevention and Education Program’s activities focus on four priorities involving youth, second hand smoke, smoking cessation and disparate populations.
