Residents of public housing face unique challenges that contribute to higher rates of Substance Use Disorders (SUD) compared to the general U.S. population. In this report, the National Center for Health in Public Housing (NCHPH) highlights the risk factors impacting public housing residents and outlines promising and evidence-based practices that Public Housing Primary Care (PHPC) health centers can adapt to improve patient outcomes.
