This webinar presented by National Health Care for the Homeless Council (NHCHC) and National Center for Health in Public Housing (NCHPH) focused on introducing clinicians, health educators and CHWs to the rationale for doing smoking cessation with public housing and homeless individuals served by health center programs. This webinar also provided information on the seven FDA approved cessation medications as well as proven behavioral counseling techniques to help individuals stay quit permanently.

When appropriately utilized, community partnerships can facilitate inter-agency sharing of resources, knowledge and workload in a manner which eases administrative burden, improves staff retention/satisfaction and maximizes the quality of services provided to our patients and the communities we serve. In this learning collaborative with NCHPH and NNCC, we utilized Healthy Together: A Toolkit for Health Center Collaborations with HUD-Assisted Housing and Community-Based Organizations to take a pragmatic approach to forming, maintaining and evaluating successful community partnerships.
